Each uncoated bilayer tablet contains:
Teneligliptin Hydrobromide Hydrate IP
Equivalent to Teneligliptin 20 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride  (as sustained release ) IP 500 mg

About Composition

Teneligliptin:

Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor. It is used along with exercise and diet for the control of blood sugar level

Metformin Hydrochloride:

Metformin is a biguanide and it prevents the damage of kidney and blindness and problems in nerves, loss of limbs and sexual functional problems.

Mechanism of Action

Teneligliptin:

It increases the release of insulin from the pancreas and causes the decrease in the release of hormone that raises the blood sugar levels.

Metformin:

It delays the absorption of glucose from the intestine and increases the sensitivity to insulin or lowers the production of glucose from liver.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption: It is absorbed via GIT
Protein Binding: It is 90% bound to plasma proteins
Metabolism: It is metabolized in the liver
Excretion: It is excreted via urine

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in people with renal impairment
